According to their main site, the Melbourne Anime Festival (as we all know as Manifest) will no longer be running future events. I think many of us would agree it was inevitable, and that it was quickly going downhill from the inflation of entry fees, amongst many other problems.
However, thinking back on it, this particular event had a pretty big impact on my life and without it, I wouldn't have met most of my great friends I adore to this day. For this, I appreciate the countless hours the staff and volunteers have dedicated towards the organisation and running of this con throughout all these years. Without them, we wouldn't have had a place to be the huge nerds we are, dress up and create wonderful memories with each other
I went through my old Manifest con report journals and picked out some favourite pics to remember all the good times I've had at this con
Our year 2007 One Piece Group! This was the first time I met in person!
2008 REBORN! Gang!
Gintama ZOMBROWS!! This was my favourite cosplay group ever
The day I found out I was a giant next to these two
Not taken at the con exactly, but y'know why else would we be doing this at a restaurant
Miyu so done with my crap
ALL MY VOCALOID FEELS....
Met for the first time and just got her to strip with me. THIS IS HOW YOU MAKE FRIENDS APPARENTLY.
I JUST FORGOT TO ADD THIS ONE IN THE PREVIOUS JOURNAL...
I also want to thank the lovely people who supported me during my years of fan trading at Manifest. You guys were always so patient and kind with the bumbling, math-stupid me!! I'm going to miss the Manifest crowd a lot. I hope we'll at least see each other at many other cons in Melbourne and interstate though! Thanks again, Manifest, for all the awesome nerdy fun times !!!
